Admission information

The Doctoral School announces admissions each semester for full-time scholarship, part-time (correspondence), and individually prepared doctoral programs. The application deadline is usually early January for the spring semester and late May for the fall semester. Exact dates are specified in the current admission announcement. 

Application requirements full-time or part-time program 

  • at least a good grade in a master’s (MA/MSc) or a university degree equivalent to this in the previous education system (the grade of the degree is not a disqualifying factor two years after graduation), as well as exceptionally talented applicants* with a bachelor’s degree and professional qualification – in parallel with their master’s program – may also apply for doctoral training; 
  • knowledge of a foreign language.  
  • initial scientific or artistic achievements (e.g., TDK thesis, conference presentation, publication, etc.) 
  • Appropriate professional preparation, research ideas, research plans. 

*Applicants with exceptional talent are those who achieved a grade point average of at least 4.5 in the previous academic year and won one of the top three places in the OTDK. 

Requirements for applying for individual preparatory doctoral training 

The Doctoral School accepts applications for individual preparatory training from those who: At the time of admission, they meet at least 40% of the minimum publication requirements necessary to initiate the degree procedure, or have statements of acceptance for the publication of their publications, and: have previously participated in doctoral training, or have significant, verified research and development, industrial patent results, or workshop discussion material for doctoral theses. In addition to one of these requirements, applicants must meet the foreign language criteria necessary for obtaining a degree.
